11 Divine Mercy Sunday
If you were born well before the year 2000, you know the feast of Divine Mercy has not always been celebrated in the Church. In the early 1900s, a young Polish nun began receiving private revelations. Jesus appeared to her during her times of prayer, speaking a message of mercy and love for the world. She received a set of prayers — the Divine Mercy Chaplet — and the request to have a feast day established to remind the Church of the mercy of God. St. Faustina died in 1938, on the cusp of war and in the midst of one of the most violent centuries in the history of the world. Her story and her diaries began circulating in Poland and beyond. It quickly became apparent that this was a holy young woman, and the cause for her canonization opened. In the year 2000, she was canonized by the first-ever Polish pope, St. John Paul II. On her canonization day, he established the second Sunday of Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday, “a perennial invitation to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that mankind with experience in the years to come.” ©LPi | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 Adoration

Memorial of Blessed Marianna of Jesus Navarro, Virgin Special Liturgy at 8:15 am Mary Ann was born on January 17, 1565, in Madrid, Spain. She led a virtuous life since her youth. At the age of 23 years, she refused to get married and dedicated herself completely to God under the direction of the Mercedarian Fathers. She received the habit of the Third Order of Mercy and was professed in 1614. She dedicated herself to works of mercy, had a deep devotion to the Holy Eucharist, and was an inspiring example of prayer life, humility, and sacrifice. She was commanded, under obedience, to write a short autobiography. She died on April 17, 1624, in Madrid, where her body is preserved incorrupt.

Special Liturgies at the 6:30 am & 6:00 pm Masses Attached to the friary of the Mercedarians in Cagliari there is a Marian shrine called "Our Lady of Bonaria", named after the hill on which it rises, in which is venerated an image of the Mother of God with the Child Jesus on her arm. Tradition has it that the marvelous image arrived at the port of Cagliari in 1370, enclosed in a chest that had been thrown into the sea during a storm from a ship traveling toward Italy from Spain. Devotion to the Blessed Virgin of Bonaria quickly spread among the people and especially among sailors. who invoke her as the Protectress of seafarers. On September 13, 1907, Our Lady of Bonaria was proclaimed principal Patroness of Sardinia. On April 24, 1970, the Supreme Pontiff Paul VI honored with his presence the solemn celebrations for the sixth centenary of the arrival of this sacred image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

25 | 26 | 27 St. Peter Armengol Feast
Special Liturgy at the 6:30 am & 6:00 pm Masses Peter Armengol was born about the year 1238 in Guardial dels Prats, Spain. He lived his youth devoid of God. Through the grace of God, he was converted and lived a life of penance. He entered the Order of Mercy and carried out several redemptions. In the redemption of 1266, he gave himself as hostage for the freedom of slaves. On that occasion, he was hanged, but his life was spared through the miraculous protection of our Lady. He died about the year 1304. For more information:
