  • Outdoor Mass

    Sunday Aug 23, 2020 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

The outdoor Mass for our feast day was a great success! Having Mass in the soccer field meant that people were able to distance themselves and feel safe. For this reason, we would like to offer two more Outdoor Masses.

On August 23rd and September 20th, we will have the 11:30 am Mass in the soccer field (weather permitting). Similar to the feast, we will not have a 10 am Italian Mass to encourage more participation. These Masses will include an Italian reading and some music in Italian.

For those who wish, they can sit in their cars along the soccer field or in the parking lot closest to the field. Please spread the word about this Outdoor Mass! It is much easier to distance ourselves and enjoy the summer weather together.

Two videos are the centerpiece of the training: A Time to Protect God's Children™ and A Plan to Protect God's Children™. The facilitators incorporate policies and procedures into the training defining child sexual abuse, addressing the reporting of child sexual abuse, the screening and selection of employees and volunteers, and victim advocacy.

  • St. Augustine (Feast)

Friday Aug 28, 2020 All day

Saint Augustine, Bishop, and Lawgiver of the Mercedarian Order

Special Masses at 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM

Saint Augustine was born at Tagaste, Africa in 354.  He was unsettled and restlessly searched for the truth until he was converted to the Faith in Milan and baptized by Saint Ambrose in 387.  Returning to his homeland, he embraced an ascetic life and subsequently was elected bishop of Hippo.  For thirty-four years he guided his flock, instructing them with sermons and many writings.  He fought bravely against the errors of his time and explained the Faith carefully and cogently through his writings.  He died in 430.  Pope Gregory IX, on the occasion of confirming the Order of Mercy on January 17, 1235, assigned it the Rule of Saint Augustine.  For this reason, Saint Augustine is venerated by the Order of Mercy in a special way.

  • St. Raymond Nonnatus (Feast)

Monday Aug 31, 2020 All day

    Saint Raymond Nonnatus, Priest

Special Masses at 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM

According to reliable tradition, Raymond was born in Portell, Catalone toward the end of the twelfth century.  He is called Nonnatus (not born) because he was taken from his mother's womb after her death.  He entered the Order of Our Lady of Mercy and gave illustrous example of charity toward the Christian captives.  During one of his redemptions, he was kept as hostage and his lips were padlocked to impede him from preaching the faith.  He had a deep devotion to the Holy Eucharist and to our Lady.  On his way to Rome, he died in Cardona about the year 1240.

Are you a couple seeking children? Do you desire to grow in holiness as a family?

St. Raymond Nonnatus Kits, which include blessed St. Raymond water and a blessed candle, will be available for couples seeking children and those who desire to grow in holiness as a family.  St. Raymond has been invoked by married couples and families for these purposes for centuries.
